IMPRESIONANTE, ¿verdad?

AMAZING, don't they??

Tenía muchas, muchísimas ganas de ver este desfile. Y no me defraudó. De hecho, ha sido uno de mis preferidos de María Lafuente.

Esta colección de primavera/verano de 2012 toma el nombre del peculiar delfín rosado amazónico que le ha servido de inspiración y que se ha convertido en el alma de la colección: "Inia".

La inteligencia y belleza de este cetáceo, además de su singular color, ha sido el punto de partida de esta propuesta, junto a la enorme 'sopa de plástico' existente en el Océano Pacífico. Con ello, la diseñadora leonesa quiere despertar la conciencia ecológica de todo ser humano.

Así, a través de todos estos diseños, María busca incentivar la responsabilidad medioambiental y mostrar la incalculable belleza del mundo marino y fluvial.

I really, really wanted to see this catwalk show. And it doesn't let me down. Indeed, it has been one of my favorite ones of Maria Lafuente.

This S/S 2012 collection has the name of the unique Amazonian pink dolphin, which has been an inspiration and has become the soul of the collection: "Inia".

The intelligence and beauty of this animal, as well as its unique color, has been the starting point of her proposal, and also the enormous 'plastic soup' that exists in the Pacific Ocean.With this, the designer wants to raise the ecologic awareness of every human being.

So, through all these designs, Maria seeks to promote environmental responsibility, and show us the immeasurable beauty of the oceanic world.

Las prendas reflejan las preocupaciones e inquietudes de la diseñadora que, en cada pieza, se despliegan a través de volúmenes arquitectónicos para magnificar la naturaleza y atraer nuestra mirada, y nuestra mente, hacia ella.

La paleta de colores escogida nos introduce en el mundo oceánico a través del verde agua y el azul marino, destacando también los rosas chicle y magenta, y todo ello completado con la pureza del blanco.

The garments reflect the preoccupations and concerns of the designer who, in each piece, are shown through architectural volumes to magnify the nature and attract our eyes, and our mind, to it.

The color palette introduce us into the ocean world through the green water and the oceanic blue, with also gum pink and magenta, and all completed with the purity of white colour.

THE FABRICS

Los materiales reciclados, los algodones y las sedas, se mezclan con las fibras tecnológicas para

crear una colección que busca la reutilización de diversos elementos. Algunos tejidos presentan

rayas que evocan la superficie ondulante del mar, mientras que otros reflejan la luz y destellan con ella.

Recycled materials, cotton and silk are mixed up with technological fabrics, to create a collection that seeks for the reuse of various elements. Some of the fabrics are striped (imitating the superfice od the sea), and another ones are shiny and really cute.

THE DETAILS

Destacan las faldas voluminosas, las chaquetas estructuradas, y los pantalones y vestidos cuyas formas nos recuerdan a los peces y las anémonas. Sus líneas son la evolución de las aletas del delfín, las ondas sinuosas del mar... Todo en perfecta sintonía.

Voluminous skirts, structured jackets, and pants and dresses with forms that remind us of fishes and anemones are the best of this collection. All in perfect harmony.

THE ACCESORIES

María ha diseñado todo un conjunto de accesorios y complementos inspirados también en el mundo marino. Las medias nos recuerdan a las redes de los pescadores, mientras que los espectaculares (y enormes) anillos imitan estrellas y caracolas. Por último, los zapatos son de tacón cuadrado o de plataforma en ante y charol, bien en tonos rosados o en azules y verdes.

María has designed a whole range of accessories also inspired by the marine world. The stockings are reminiscent of fishing nets, while the spectacular (and huge) rings mimic starsands and shells. Finally, the square-heeled and platform shoes are made of suede and patent leather, in shades of pink or in blue and green.

THE DESIGNER

María Lafuente es leonesa y habitual de la Pasarela de Castilla y León, ya os he hablado sobre ella en varios posts, mostrando incluso su backstage (estuve de ayudante de fitting y backstage en uno de sus desfiles del Off de Cibeles). Es una persona muy simpática, muy agradable, y con una visión completamente artística de la moda, preocupándose por cada detalle desfile tras desfile.

Maria Lafuente is an usual designer of the Castilla&León Fashion Week. I have already spoken about her in several posts, even showing her backstage (I was her fitting and backstage assistant at one of their shows in Cibeles). She is a very nice person and has a completely artistic view of fashion, worrying about every detail catwalk after catwalk.
